8th World Water Forum:  OSS Side-event: “Sharing Water in Africa, Developing Cooperation and Sharing Benefits »

 

The OSS, who is promoting has been promoting the sustainable management of transboundary water resources in the Sahara and Sahel region for more than twenty years, organized on March 20, 2018, in the framework of the 8th World Water Forum in Brasilia, a side event on : “Sharing Water in Africa, Developing Cooperation and Sharing Benefits ». This session will address the issue of transboundary water resources and cooperation frameworks set up

or being initiated by countries for joint and sustainable water resources management. The event, attended by more than 50 persons,  was facilitated by Mr. Harry Liv (UNECE), Mr Anil Mishra (UNESCO -IHP), Mr Tales Carvalho-Resende (UNESCO-IHP), as well as the OSS delegation at the Forum, composed of Mr. Khatim Kherraz, OSS Executive Secretary, Mr.  Djamel Latrech, Mr Abdelkader Dodo, Mr. Rachid Taibi and Mrs. Lilia Benzid. The panel included the Secretary of State for Hydraulic Resources and Fishery of Tunisia, Mr Abdallah Rabhi, the INBO Assistant Secretary, Mr Alain Bernard, Assistant Secretary-General at the Ministry of Environment of Estonia and member of the UN Water Convention Bureau, Mr Harry LIIV (UNECE) and Mr Dimitris FALOUTSOS, Deputy Regional Coordinator (GWP-Med).
