Membership
States and Organizations who wish to become members of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory may follow the procedure described in the OSS Statutes.

Adhesion

  • States may become members by submitting an official notification to the OSS Executive Secretariat.
  • African sub-regional organizations specialized in the fight against desertification and the mitigation of the effects of drought, United Nations organizations and intergovernmental organizations may become members by submitting an official notification to the Executive Secretariat.
  • Only intergovernmental organizations whose activities are compatible with the Sahara and Sahel Observatory’s goals and whose membership request has been approved by the Executive Board can become members of OSS.


Admission

  • Are admitted as members: States that notified their contributions to the OSS budget in writing; and intergovernmental organizations that notified their contributions to the OSS budget in writing.
  • International non-governmental organizations whose formal membership request was addressed to the OSS Executive Secretariat and approved by the Executive Board.
  • Only international non-governmental organizations, operating in the field of science and whose activities are compatible with OSS’s goals, can become members of OSS.
