A virtual exchange meeting was held on May 6, 2021, as part of the Digital Earth Africa (DEA) Program to conduct an awareness-raising and guidance exercise to better understand the ins and outs of the program.
This exercise made it possible to introduce the Digital Earth Africa platforms, products and services on the one hand, and the proposed approaches for setting up a synergistic work, on the other hand.
The OSS presented its achievements in terms of valuing remote sensing in support of decision-making in the fields of agriculture and the management of natural resources (soil, water, etc.). It thus highlighted the areas of interest in line with those of DEA, and expressed the desire to contribute to a fruitful collaboration with the operators of this program.
The DEA program (https://www.digitalearthafrica.org/) is an initiative that aims at providing a reliable and operational service, valuing Earth Observation (Remote Sensing) to provide ready-to-use products for decision-making, in order to cope with social, environmental and economic changes in the African continent. The program targets 4 groups of operators: political decision-makers, scientists, the private sector and civil society.té en Matière de Dégradation des Terres
