The Sahara and Sahel Observatory is participating in a seminar organized by GIZ on the role of women in the face of the effects of climate change in the Maghreb, to be held in Rabat from 13-14 November 2018.
Several working sessions are planned, in the form of world coffee and debates on measures to be taken to strengthen the participation and involvement of women in climate change adaptation and mitigation policies and programs.
In this context, the OSS will share its experience in the field of gender mainstreaming in the projects and programs it conducts in its area of action, in order to tackle climate change. OSS will also outline the main lines of its new gender policy set up in the framework of its accreditation to the Green Climate Fund in November 2017.
The new gender policy, together with annual action plans, allows OSS to further affirm its commitment to gender mainstreaming and enhancing the role of women in the sustainable management of natural resources.
