The OSS (Water programme) participated in the information and awareness workshop on the prospective of water in Tunisia, by 2050, organized on 27 and 28 June 2018 in Hammamet (Tunisia), by the Ministry of the Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia.
This meeting, chaired by the Minister, aimed to present the main aspects of the study entitled: "Development of a vision and strategy for water in Tunisia by 2050". Funded by the ADB, KFW and GIZ, the study will start in September 2018 for a period of 2 years.
Working groups on governance, economic, social and environmental aspects related to water and communication were formed and the conclusions and recommendations will be incorporated into the development of the study.
"The water strategy for 2050 in Tunisia aims to implement a new approach for integrated water governance, based on demand management and not supply management". This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Samir Taieb, on the sidelines of the information day, held in Hammamet.
