Despite the COVID crisis, the OSS organized this morning a workshop that brought together all the regional and national partners of the GMES and Africa (North Africa) project, namely: the African Regional Center for Science and Technology in French Language affiliated to the UN (CRASTE-LF), based in Rabat (MOROCCO), the Regional Center for Remote Sensing of North African States (CRTEAN), based in Tunis (TUNISIA), the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL), based in Algiers (ALGERIA), the National Center for Mapping and Remote Sensing (CNCT), based in Tunis (TUNISIA), the Royal Center for Space Remote Sensing (CRTS), based in Rabat (MOROCCO), the Desert Research Center (DRC), based in Cairo (EGYPT), the Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (LCRSSS), based in Tripoli (LIBYA) and the Asriya University of Nouakchott (MAURITANIA), based in Nouakchott (MAURITANIA).

The main purpose of this meeting was to present the progress of the project, and to discuss the next activities to be carried out by the end of the 1st phase. It has also been announced that a second phase is planned by the end of 2020.

It is worth noting that the tele-training on operational modeling of wheat growth and its yield estimate, organized by the OSS during the last week, within the framework of the Africultures project, with the participation of GMES partners, opened up new prospects for remote learning for the GMES and Africa project, and cross fertilization.
