GEO4SDGs Information day on Geospatial technologies & Sustainable Development Goals, March 10, 2021

The Sahara and Sahel Observatory, represented by its Executive Secretary, Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, took part in a Geo4SDGs information day organized by the UN-GGIM, on geospatial technologies and their integration as a tool for achieving sustainable development goals.

In his speech, Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, insisted on the importance of valuing Earth Observation data and technologies in order to support decision-making in the sustainable management of water and natural resources.

The Geo4SDGs, first introduced at the Geospatial World Forum 2018, is a platform for discussing the thorough integration of geospatial data in the agenda.

The United Nations Group of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) which organizes the event, aims to address global challenges related to the use of geospatial information, and to serve as a global policymaking body in geospatial information management.
