A study tour and exchange of experiences was organized in Morocco with the support of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and the Ministry of Local Affairs and Environment of Tunisia, as part of the GCF Readiness Tunisia. This exchange of experience aims to strengthen the capacities of the members of the Tunisian National designated authority - NDA, in order to enable it to fully play its role vis-à-vis the GCF but also those of the national institutions competing for accreditation to the Green Climate Fund.
The choice of Moroccan destination was dictated by the fact that the Moroccan NDA has already received funding from the GCF and has finalised the accreditation of two national direct access entities (namely CDG Capital and the Agence pour le Développement Agricole - ADA). In this context, working sessions were organised with the Moroccan NDA, which has already benefited from GCF funding and led to the accreditation of two national direct access entities (namely CDG Capital and the Agence pour le Développement Agricole - ADA). Discussions focused on non-objection processes, accreditation and the development of investment projects and programs dedicated to GCF.
Meetings were also organized with Moroccan institutions already accredited (Attijari Wafa Bank, CDG Capital and ADA), which enabled Tunisian national institutions in the process of being accredited (Caisse des dépôts et consignations and Agence de Promotion des Investissements Agricoles - APIA) to discuss the different stages of accreditation to the GCF.
To close this workshop, a field visit to meet with the managers of a GCF-funded project in the Fes region is planned for all participants on 21 March 2019.
