The OSS, represented by MM Louis Blanc Traoré and Louis Evence Zoungrana, organizes a Training and Support Workshop in GIS and Remote sensing applied to Monitoring and evaluation for Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) in the framework of the Building Resilience through Innovation, Communication and Knowledge Services - BRICKS/Sahel and West Africa Programme - SAWAP.
The purpose of this workshop is to help the Nigeria project team achieve its monitoring and evaluation results. The main objective is therefore to consolidate the knowledge of NEWMAP members and resource persons in the field of monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the components related to GIS and Remote Sensing, for the production of relevant data and information that is useful and exploitable as M&E indicators for the project.
This workshop is part of the country support activities that OSS is conducting as a coordinator of the monitoring & evaluation of the SAWAP program and the geospatial services whose main expected results are:
- Develop new monitoring tools and capacity building activities at regional and national levels to monitor SAWAP project portfolio procedures and impacts
- Regularly monitor the SAWAP portfolio in the framework of a series of thematic indicators and processes.
