It is with great honour that the OSS welcomes the new membership of the Regional Coordination of Users of Natural Resources of the Niger Basin - CRU-BN that has nine (9) member countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Nigeria & Chad). This new membership, approved by the 25th session of the OSS Executive Board, was ratified by the sixth (6th) General Assembly, held on November 16 & 17, 2020.
The CRU-BN aims to protect & preserve the Niger River for a sustainable & proportionate Socio-Economic & Environmental development between all stakeholders & through the participation & involvement of organizations using natural resources in the Niger basin.
Today, the OSS has 32 member countries including 25 African countries, 7 non-African countries & 14 organizations.
