Africa GIS is the largest Geospatial, Science and Technology conference on the African Continent.  The conference is held every two years and is organized by EIS-Africa, a pan African non-profit organization. The AfricaGIS Conference and Exhibition series have become a flagship Geospatial Information marketplace in Africa. For the past 20 years, the series have contributed immensely to the development of skills and institutional capacity in geoinformation across the continent.

The Conference will explore the role of innovations in geospatial information and its implication in addressing the 17 targets of the Sustainable Development Goals for an inclusive, prosperous and sustainable African continent. AfricaGIS will offer different interactive sessions including plenary sessions featured by valuable keynote presentations, parallel sessions for oral presentations, poster presentations and Exhibitions.
AfricaGIS 2019 is hosted by the University of Rwanda and supported by UNECA, UNGGIM Africa, GEO and Digital Earth Africa and GMES and Africa

Thanks to its strong involvement in the use of remote sensing in support of Agriculture, Food Security and the sustainable management of land and water resources in Africa, OSS has built strong partnerships and is entrusted with the implementation of large-scale regional projects such as the GMES&Africa, Africultures, CREM projects ...
Its approach is based on multi-dimensional systems for the collection of data on different topics, their analysis and the development of decision-making support products.

Thus, the OSS designs and produces map products (land use and vegetation map, vulnerability maps, characterization and management of trans-boundary aquifers, etc.), tools for analyzing and interpreting earth observation data and secures a wide dissemination thereof mainly through national and regional thematic Atlases (land use and vegetation).
