The opening of the second session of the AdaptWAP project Steering Committee was marked by the welcome address of Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, Executive Secretary of the OSS and the speeches of Mr. Moussa IRO MORPHI and Mr. Benoit DOAMBA, respectively the outgoing and incoming Presidents.
This session aimed to inform the members of the Steering Committee on the progress of the activities carried out during the first year of the project by the (regional and national) executing units and to introduce the activities planned for the second year of the project (2021-2022).
The works took end with a number of recommendations formulated for a better implementation of future activities with a view to achieving the project objectives and to catch up with the delay in the project activities implementation due to the health situation and certain country-level institutional and administrative constraints.
During this meeting, the results of the WAP complex adaptation plan drawn up within the framework of the project were also presented, the main part relates to the need of taking into account the local specificities and context for the proposed adaptation actions and the national strategies of the relevant countries. The next Steering Committee meeting is due on May 2022.
