OSS mission to Mauritania for monitoring in-partnership-projects, Nouakchott, Mauritania, July 18-20, 2019

An OSS delegation, led by the Environment Program Coordinator, Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, and including Mr. Louis Evence Zoungrana and Mr. Aziz Belhamra, paid Nouakchott, Mauritania a visit on July 18-20, 2019.

One of the objectives of this mission, is the organization of a national workshop to strengthen the Monitoring and Evaluation capacities of the stakeholders of the Sustainable Landscape Management project (SLMP - SAWAP / BRICKS) on the evaluation of the carbon balance.

This training session, which follows a series of capacity building sessions in GIS / GPS Monitoring and Evaluation and Remote Sensing, started in July 2018, is one of the main OSS support to the Mauritanian partners in the implementation of an Ecological Monitoring System dedicated to the SLM project, whose objective is to improve the resilience of landscapes and people's livelihoods through regenerating production ecosystems.

Besides, the OSS mission aims at reviewing projects in partnership and prospects for cooperation with Mauritania.
