OSS at COP 14 of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, 2-13 September 2019, New Delhi, India

On the occasion of its participation in the 14th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), which is being held in New Delhi, India, from 2 to 13 September 2019, OSS is running an information booth to welcome visitors and is organizing a side event on Thursday 12 September from 13:00 to 15:00 - room MET-09, on "Combating land degradation, monitoring needs and required funding". During this meeting, the debate will be based on the experience of OSS and its partners and will focus on two themes: 1. Geospatial and Earth observation technologies for Monitoring Land Degradation and 2. Combating Desertification and Drought through Climate financing windows: OSS, as a facilitator of direct access.

The OSS delegation, led by Mr Khatim Kherraz, Executive Secretary, and composed of Mr Nabil Ben Khatra, Coordinator of the Environment Programme and Ms Khaoula Jaoui, Climate Finance and Natural Resources Management Expert, will also participate in various side events organized by OSS partners.

In particular, it is participating in the event organized by CARI on the results of the session on multi-use water in arid zones, which was facilitated by OSS, represented by Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, on the occasion of the International Summit of the Civil Society DesertifActions, held on 20 June 2019 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
